Backpacking Yosemite in the Fall

I call piety that reverence joined with love of God which the knowledge of his benefits induces. For until men recognize that they owe everything to God, that they are nourished by his fatherly care, that he is the Author of their every good, that they should seek nothing beyond him - they will never yield him willing service. Nay, unless they establish their complete happiness in him, they will never give themselves truly and sincerely to him.
— John Calvin

Here are a few photos from one of our highlights in 2016! May our happiness to be rooted in Christ alone, and may we enjoy this beautiful earth he has blessed us with.

11.14.16 We started our trek from Glacier Point. Made it there right before the pass closed!

Illilouette Falls - about a 1.5 mile hike from Glacier Point. I would highly recommend it!

Half dome, Mt Liberty, and Mt Broderick.

Making the trek up sub-dome! The last time we had attempted sub-dome it was iced over and snowy... we didn't make it up half dome that day, but since then we have been determined to make it back.

A lot of folks (including us initially) think that the "cables down" mean they have been completely removed from half dome. The reality is they just take the large stakes down and the cables literally lay flat on the granite.

No crowds, no permits. You're free to hike it.

At the top of the dome.

Iphone Pic! Happy camper right here! 1 1/2 months earlier I had my terrible car accident, I wasn't sure if i would make this trip due to the pain. I'm thankful for Chiropractic care, and a husband who carried a lot of the weight :)

Oppa gangman style?

The Clark Range. I hear it is beautiful backcountry - although we have never been.

Richard brought me this nifty coffee maker back from the Philippines! It's our best camping gadget yet!

Peaceful Little Yosemite Valley.

Frozen face iphone photo!

As we hiked back to Glacier Point rain began to settle over the valley floor.

Richard can nail some sweet night shots! One of his many hidden talents. :)

Fresh morning due to finish out our trip.

"Hey - anybody know where's El Cap?!"

That's all folks! I hope you enjoyed our photos. :) We sure love this place. It gets better each time we go.
