This is a tale of sweet serendipity! Once upon a time Richard and I took a weekend trip to backpack up to Clouds Rest in Yosemite.
It's called Clouds Rest as it truly rests in the clouds - the highest point in Yosemite!
We traveled through fire...
And saw God's natural cathedrals peaking out of the ground.
Mornings were spent sipping goats milk latte's by Sunrise Lakes.
And then... as we approached the peak of Clouds Rest, soaked in the view and ate our sandwiches. The most bizarre situation occurred. This young man asked Richard if he would be so kind as to take a photo of him and his girlfriend. As Richard was taking photos with the young man's iphone, he got down on one knee...
At first, it took me a few moments to process what was going on - and then I snapped into photographer mode (unfortunately, a little too quickly and didn't adjust my exposure properly) to capture this moment!
What are the odds, that we would both be on Clouds Rest at the same moments. I was so thrilled to capture a Yosemite engagement!
The young man joked and told his (now) finance that he had actually secretly hired a professional wedding photographer to be here at just these moments.
Serendipity indeed. Sweet sweet moments.
I haven't seen these two since then, but I pray that the love I observed on this day grows deeper and stronger in Him - the Creator of the beauty that refreshes our souls and unites two individuals in His beautiful covenant - marriage.
