What is it about fall that brings warm, fuzzy, nostalgic feelings? As the leaves change… we change…we reflect… we move into a new season of life.
Enjoy the images and my pondering from our family day out in the Columbia River Gorge this fall.
“A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away and all the leaves away, and the trees stand. I think, I too, have known autumn too long.”
“Fall is here, hear the yell
Back to school, ring the bell
Brand new shoes, walking blues
Climb the fence, books and pens
I can tell that we are going to be friends”
Our little Piper girl is turning out to be quite the hiker! The days we spend all day outside are her most favorite!
Do you see Mount Hood peeking in the background? Richard found himself itching to get back to the summit…
We stopped in Mosier, OR to hit up a few short hikes. Fall colors were bursting! Piper took a nap in her favorite way… in her carrier close to Mama as we hike outside.
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers”
“And the sun took a step back, the leaves lulled themselves to sleep and autumn was awakened.”
“Children see magic because they look for it.”
“Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.”
“You will find more happiness growing down than up.”
“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”
“Sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws”
“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”
I hope you enjoyed seeing our day in the Columbia River Gorge enjoying time together in nature.
